MacCurdy Salisbury Foundation Honors 23 Students from Lyme and Old Lyme
Twenty-one of the students received grants averaging $5,250 annually that will follow them through their college or post-secondary education.

LYME/OLD LYME, CT – The MacCurdy Salisbury Educational Foundation this month honored 23 graduating seniors, with 21 students set to receive renewable college or post-secondary education grants.
The need-based awards, which average about $5,250 annually for each student, continue for up to four years of college, trade school or other training programs, provided recipients maintain their GPA and their residency in Lyme or Old Lyme.
The ceremony was held on June 16 at the Lyme Art Association.

Three students also received $500 achievement awards. Lyme-Old Lyme High School valedictorian Rose Dimmock received the W.E.S. Griswold Award and will attend Brown University. Salutatorian Christopher Dagher received the Willis Umberger Award and will attend Cornell University. Maya Cook earned the Rowland Ballek Leadership Award in addition to receiving a grant, and will attend Boston College.
The special awards honor longtime foundation leaders who each served in key leadership roles spanning decades.
Evelyn MacCurdy Salisbury established the Foundation in 1893. Foundation President Fred Behringer said there are currently just over 90 students from Lyme and Old Lyme receiving grants through the program.
