The undefeated girls tennis team capped a perfect regular season with wins over Fitch, H-K and Waterford, while baseball rallied for a 4-3 extra-inning win over Granby.

Baseball

Montville 6 – Lyme-Old Lyme 4

Aidan Carpentino (2-4, 1 R, 1 RBI) led the offense for Lyme-Old Lyme in a 6-4 loss to Montville. Carpentino gave Lyme-Old Lyme a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second with an RBI single down the left field line.

Cal Lacourciere (1-1, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 RBI) doubled home a run in the third inning to put Lyme-Old Lyme ahead 3-2. Liam McCormick (1-2, 1 RBI, 1 HBP) later drove in the tying run in the fifth after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Kanato Oharu (4.0 IP, 1 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 8 BB, 3 K) took the loss for Lyme-Old Lyme. Julio Fuentes (1.2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 3 K) and Lacourciere (1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K) pitched in relief.

Zach Troland (1-4, 1 R) and Tristan Reyes (1-3) also recorded hits for Lyme-Old Lyme. The Wildcats finished with six hits and three walks. Montville drew 13 walks and committed one error defensively.

Tristan Reyes (2-2) accounted for two of Lyme-Old Lyme’s three hits in an 8-0 loss to East Lyme. Julio Fuentes (1-3) recorded the other hit for the Wildcats.

East Lyme broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning. Nick Cambi (1-4, 1 R, 3 RBI) drove in three runs, while Garrison Biggs (2-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 RBI, 1 2B) added an RBI double in the inning.

Cal Lacourciere (3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K) started on the mound for Lyme-Old Lyme. Aidan Carpentino (2.0 IP, 2 H, 5 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K) took the loss, and Rowen Meisner (2.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K) pitched in relief.

Tristan Glover (7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 14 K) earned the complete-game shutout for East Lyme.

Lyme-Old Lyme turned one double play defensively. Zach Troland recorded three putouts, while Cooper Siragusa finished with 13 putouts for East Lyme. The Vikings committed no errors.

Aidan Carpentino (1-2, 3 R, 1 RBI, 3 SB) and Rowen Meisner (1-2, 1 RBI) led the offense for Lyme-Old Lyme in a 4-3 extra-inning win over Granby Memorial. Meisner opened the scoring in the top of the first with an RBI double.

Lyme-Old Lyme tied the game in the seventh on an RBI single by Carpentino and a passed ball. The Wildcats took the lead in the top of the ninth when Meisner was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, bringing home the go-ahead run.

Zach Troland (8.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 9 K) earned the win for Lyme-Old Lyme. Tristan Reyes recorded the save with a scoreless ninth inning. Joe Tofil (6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K) started for Granby Memorial, while Robert Hazen (1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) took the loss.

Julio Fuentes (1-3, 2 BB), Tanner Snurkowski (1-4), and Troland (1-5) each added hits for Lyme-Old Lyme. The Wildcats stole four bases and drew three walks.

Lyme-Old Lyme finished the regular season 10-5 and entered the postseason ranked 15 in Class S, pending remaining regular-season matches statewide.

All 10 Old Lyme starters qualified for the Shoreline Conference individual tournament on May 26. Nick Moraillon earned the No. 6 seed in singles, while Chris Dagher and Ryan Olsen entered the doubles tournament as the No. 1 seed with a 13-2 overall record and 12-1 conference mark.
