WASHINGTON, CT – Lyme-Old Lyme High School crew on Sunday once again brought home the W. Hart Perry Jr. Fours Points Trophy from the state Connecticut Public Schools Rowing Association Championships at Lake Waramaug.

Based on combined performance across the four-person boat events, Lyme-Old Lyme High School once again captured the W. Hart Perry Jr. Fours Points Trophy. The team has won the trophy nine times in the last 13 championships.

The team swept the three boys varsity fours events, with girls posting a win in the second varsity four event.

Coach Candace Fuchs said the girls rowed a closely watched matchup with Valley-Old Saybrook, delivering a strong race but getting edged out by four seconds.

The Lyme-Old Lyme High School crew team operates out of the Fred Emerson Boathouse in Old Lyme and is supported by the Old Lyme Rowing Association, which also hosts the Blood Street Sculls.

The boathouse, now in its third building opened in 2017, has been an incubator for rowing excellence for over 50 years. Started in 1965 on Blood Street by Fred Emerson, the organization initially known as Blood Street Sculls has cultivated national champions and Olympians since its inception.
