OLD LYME, CT – The Crosby Fund for Haitian Education’s annual Haitian dinner will include a visit from one of the program’s graduates who went on to become a doctor in New York City.

The dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, 2 Ferry Road.

An authentic Haitian dinner prepared by Mommy’s Delicious Food of Norwich will be served.

Organizers said the evening will include a presentation about the program’s work in Haiti by founder Becky Crosby. She will introduce special guest Hélène Clervius, a graduate of the scholarship program who will speak about her journey from rural Haiti to becoming a doctor at SUNY University Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The Crosby Fund was established in 2004 by the Rev. Rebecca Crosby and her husband, Ted. It provides scholarships for students at the primary, secondary, technical and university level to prepare them for professional careers.

Reservations may be made by calling the church at 860-434-8686. A suggested donation of $15 per person is requested.
