Explore Connecticut’s Early Dutch History at Hadlyme Hall, May 3

LYME, CT – Historian and geologist Johan Varekamp will present “The Hidden History of the Dutch in CT” during the annual meeting of the Hadlyme Public Hall Association on Saturday, May 3, at 3 p.m.

Varekamp, a professor emeritus at Wesleyan University, will discuss the little-known rivalry between the Dutch and English for control of the Connecticut River Valley and Long Island Sound 400 years ago.

The program will be held at Hadlyme Public Hall at the intersection of Ferry, Joshuatown and Day Hill roads. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend.
