Death Announced of Nora Northrop, Old Lyme High School Graduate

Nora Northrop, 67, a kind and devoted daughter and sister from East Lyme, died Feb. 8.

Nora Northrop, 67, of East Lyme, Connecticut, passed away on February 8, 2026, at Groton Regency in Groton, Connecticut.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert D. and Dolores Gavin Northrop; her sister, Pamela Lupo; and her brother-in-law, Arthur Lupo.

Born May 29, 1958, Nora was a graduate of Old Lyme High School.

She is survived by her siblings, Pat (Walt), Robert Jr., Earl, Jim, Barbara (BJ), and Michael; her nieces, Jennifer (Joel), Ashley (Kyle), and Nicole (Jeff); her nephew, Zachary; and several cousins in Connecticut, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

Nora was a kind and caring person who devoted much of her life to helping others, especially her mother during a battle with Alzheimer’s and her brother Michael through his struggles with diabetes. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Donations in her memory may be made to local cancer organizations.
