Lyme-Old Lyme Boys Basketball Team Remains Undefeated in Shoreline; Girls Show Improvement Against Hale-Ray

The Lyme-Old Lyme High School basketball teams faced Nathan Hale-Ray High School in a decisive win for the boys and a close game for the girls against an undefeated opponent.

LYME-OLD LYME, CT – The Lyme-Old Lyme High School basketball teams faced Nathan Hale-Ray High School in a decisive win for the boys and a close game for the girls against an undefeated opponent. 

On Friday, the boys notched a 78–34 victory over Hale-Ray. Eddie Fiske scored 21 points and Ethan Trepanier added 18 points. 

The Wildcats stand at 6–1 overall and 5–0 in the Shoreline Conference. They next play at East Hampton on Jan. 13 at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, the girls fell to Hale-Ray 42-34 in a home game. Coach Christine Corah praised the team’s rally during the final two quarters that left the team within eight points of the win. 

Sybil Neary scored 13 points, made 11 rebounds, and had 7 blocks. Jillian Kleefeld contributed 6 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals. Vicky Glaras added 8 points and 8 rebounds, while Lily Reynolds delivered 7 points and 6 rebounds. 

Corah credited Viv Boller as the team’s standout defensive player of the game. 

The girls will play St. Bernard High School in Montville on Monday.
