David Ruggles and Civil Disobedience Talk and Panel DIscusssion

Old Lyme Selectman and historian Jim Lampos will present this lecture on Lyme-born abolitionist David Ruggles and civil disobedience. A panel discussion will follow with retired prosecutor Lonnie Braxton, East Lyme Selectman Jason Deeble and historian Tom Schuch as they examine Ruggles’ continuing influence on civic life and public policy.

The talk is part of the library’s second annual David Ruggles Week, which includes a series of lectures, discussions and community events.
