The 5th Annual Connecticut Sea Music Festival will return to historic downtown Essex with maritime music, history and family-friendly programming along the Connecticut River.
The Festival includes a Friday “Symposium on the Music of the Sea,” followed by a weekend of free workshops and concerts, family stage, sailor skills and Irish currach rowing demos, a Revolutionary War reenactment and fife and drum parade marking America’s 250th, plus hymn sing and late-night pub sings.
Evening concerts at the Connecticut River Museum are ticketed. Visitors are encouraged to explore Main Street Essex throughout the weekend, where sea shanties and maritime music will be performed in public spaces.
