Lyme-Old Lyme Boys Hold Off Coginchaug, Girls Fall Friday

A pair of games went in opposite directions as the boys pulled out a win against Coginchaug and the girls came up short.

LYME/OLD LYME, CT – A pair of games went in opposite directions for Lyme-Old Lyme basketball on Friday as the boys pulled out a win against Coginchaug and the girls came up short.

The boys earned a 55–49 victory at home. 

Colman Curtiss-Reardon led Lyme-Old Lyme with 17 points, followed by Will McKeever with 15 and Eddie Fiske with 14. 

The win puts Lyme-Old Lyme at 13–2 overall and 12–1 in the Shoreline Conference.

The Wildcats will next face the Old Saybrook Rams on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The girls fell to Coginchaug in a 34–20 road game.

Sybil Neary led Lyme-Old Lyme with seven points, six rebounds, three steals, and two assists. 

Jillian Kleefeld had six points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal, while Viv Boller added four points, two rebounds, a steal, and a block.

Reagan Christopher contributed one point, four rebounds, four steals and an assist. Vicky Glaras added two points, six rebounds and a steal. 

The Wildcats will host Old Saybrook on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the annual “Battle of the Bridge.”

Earlier this week, the boys dominated Valley Regional on Wednesday 87–51, with 25 points from Eddie Fiske, 18 from Will McKeever, and 12 from Ryan Hill.

The girls’ team the same day lost a close contest to Valley, 39–36. 

Sybil Neary scored 14 points, Jillian Kleefeld added 11, and Vicky Glaras had 13 rebounds.
