Letter to the Editor: Lampos Backs Berke for Region 18 School Board
Old Lyme Selectman Jim Lampos says Devin Berke’s professional background and perspective as a parent would make him an effective member.
To the Editor:
When I learned that Devin Berke was running for the Board of Education in the special election on Oct. 6, I was absolutely delighted. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Devin over the past few years, and I’ve found him to be smart, caring, level-headed and dedicated.
As the dad of a Mile Creek student, he is personally devoted to the excellence of our schools and the quality of our children’s lives. His professional expertise in accounting, project management and construction offers a pragmatic perspective that will be valuable in assessing issues that come before the board. He is knowledgeable on the real-world issues that face our kids and the contemporary challenges of education, and brings a non-ideological and practical approach to the discussion.
I happily and whole-heartedly endorse his candidacy.
Let’s have a good turnout to vote for Devin Berke this Tuesday, Oct. 6, 6 p.m. at the middle school!
Sincerely,
Jim Lampos
Old Lyme
Editor’s Note: Lampos is a Democratic member of the Old Lyme Board of Selectmen.
