Letter to the Editor: Outgoing Region 18 Board Member Susan Fogliano Backs Marianne DeBruyn
Susan Fogliano, who served 18 years on the Region 18 Board of Education, is endorsing fellow Democrat Marianne DeBruyn to succeed her on the nine-member board.
To the Editor:
As a 18 year veteran of the Region 18 Board of Education, it is my privilege to endorse Marianne DeBruyn in the upcoming special election to replace me.
Marianne and I have been friends and neighbors for decades. I know her to be honest, compassionate and hardworking. Both of us have raised children in the district. We share a desire to give back to our community and a common sense approach to solving problems.
My mantra over these many years has been that politics, big or small, have no place at the Board of Education table. The work is hard enough without adding to the mix. I know that Marianne will do her homework and make fairminded decisions based on the facts and the best outcomes for students and citizens alike.
Old Lyme will be in good hands with Mrs. DeBruyn on the Board of Education.
