Grab a Beach Chair: Free Thursday Night Concert Series Returns to Sound View

Eight weeks of free live music kicks off June 25 at the Sound View flagpole, with performances ranging from classic rock and big band to local favorites.

OLD LYME, CT – The Sound View Beach Thursday Night Concert Series is back with eight weeks of free live music.

The family-friendly concerts are held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays through Aug. 13. Concerts are staged near the flagpole at the end of Hartford Avenue.

Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and settle in for a lovely evening of sunset music spanning modern rock, classic rock, big band, calypso and classical styles. Everyone is welcome to attend. 

The rain date for each concert is the following Tuesday. 

June 25 – White-Eyed Lizard Band
Steel drum-driven calypso

July 2 – 60’s Explosion
60s sounds

July 9 – Audacity
Rock and country

July 16 – Old Lyme Town Band
Concert band with more than 50 members

Jully 23 Maestro’s Men
Polka band

July 30  Elemental Groove Band
Multiple genres including pop, blues and Motown

Aug. 6 Red Satin Band
Swing, jazz, contemporary, funk, classic rock and big band

Aug. 13 Thames River Big Band
Classic swing-era and big band favorites
