Lyme Grange Sale Offers Plants, Pollinator Tips and More, May 9
Blooms, herbs and garden favorites will be available for purchase, and advice will be handed out for free, as the Lyme Grange hosts its annual plant sale rain or shine.

LYME, CT – The Lyme Grange will once again turn into a spring marketplace of bulbs and blooms at its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 9 – just in time for Mother’s Day gifting.
The sale runs rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Route 156 and Sterling City Road. The century-old Grange is familiar to many as the center of the annual Hamburg Fair in August.
If you’re looking for a last-minute Mother’s Day gift – or just ready to dig into gardening season – you’ll find a wide selection of plants, including heirloom tomatoes, annuals, vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets, geraniums, hydrangeas, perennials and shrubs. Visitors can also pick up ideas and information on how to create their own pollinator garden at home.
Families are encouraged to stop by the “Junior Gardener” area, where children can get hands-on with gardening activities. Kids will be able to mix their own potting soil, plant a pumpkin seedling or sunflower to take home and grow, and even make a simple “plant waterer” from a recycled plastic bottle. Organizers say the goal is to share agricultural skills with the next generation of gardeners.
All proceeds from the sale support ongoing building upgrades at the Lyme Grange, as well as future agricultural programming for the community.
Coffee, beverages and baked goods will be available on site, making it easy to linger, shop, and enjoy the morning. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.
