Lyme-Old Lyme Boys Basketball Advances to Postseason, Girls Sign Off With Win

The boys are onto the postseason after a two-point win over Ellington, while the girls capped their season with a 40-31 victory over Ellis Tech.

LYME/OLD LYME, CT – The Lyme-Old Lyme boys basketball team is heading into the postseason, while the girls ended on a high note. 

In the last game of the regular season, the boys beat the Ellington Knights 52-50 on Friday. 

Eddie Fiske Jr. scored 20 points and Will McKeever scored 12. 

Old Lyme finished the regular season 18-2 overall and 15-1 in the Shoreline Conference. 

Postseason play begins for the Wildcats on Wednesday, Feb. 25, in East Hampton. 

On the girls side, the Wildcats ended their season with a 40-31 win over Ellis Technical High School on Thursday. 

Sybil Neary and Jillian Kleefeld each finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Neary, who was honored as part of Senior Night festivities, had two steals, one block and an assist. Kleefeld had four assists, four steals and a block.

Also contributing were Vicky Glaras with eight points, Addi Sapia with four and Reagan Christopher with three. 

Coach Christine Corah in the team report signed off “until next year.”

“Although we wish we were continuing into the post season, we were happy to end the season on such a positive note that reflected our hard work throughout the entire season,” she said.
