Looking for something to do this weekend (if the weather permits)? The options are dwindling.

Musical Bingo Returns to Old Lyme Library

If your idea of a good night out involves music, laughs and a little friendly competition, the Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library is hosting its second annual Musical Bingo on Friday night.

The 21-and-over event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Community Room at 2 Library Lane. Players will test their knowledge of songs from the 1950s to today, with a cash bar, snacks and prizes adding to the fun. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online.

Essex Winter Series Concert Postponed

The weather has not permitted.

Essex Winter Series on Thursday announced the opening concert of the 2026 Essex Winter Series, originally set for Sunday, will be postponed to the end of the year.

The Timeless Bonds & New Horizons will be held Nov. 8 at Valley Regional High School in Deep River. Ticket holders are reminded not to lose their passes, which will be required for entry in the fall.

The show features new artistic director and flutist Tara Helen O’Connor, who will be joined by violinist Ani Kavafian, cellist Peter Wiley, and pianist Shai Wosner for an afternoon of classical works ranging from Bach to Schubert, along with pieces by Mel Bonis and Valerie Coleman.

Shows in February, March and April will mix classical and jazz performances that will return in November with the postponed concert.
