Stay Connected With Talks, Trivia and Togetherness This February at Lymes’ Senior Center
From learning to laughter, these are just a few of the many programs coming up at the Lymes’ Senior Center next month.

LYME/OLD LYME, CT – From having fun with financial literacy to exploring ways to prevent loneliness, the Lymes’ Senior Center’s February lineup of events focuses on learning, health, and staying socially connected.
Here’s a look at just a few of the offerings.
On Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m., financial services professional James Booth will present “Financial Literacy Trivia,” an interactive session to test participants’ knowledge of budgeting, purchasing power, and compounding interest. The trivia-style format is designed to encourage engagement and discussion. Candy prizes will be awarded to winners.
On Monday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m., the center will host “Dizziness, Vertigo, and Balance,” a talk by physical therapist Jonathan Goldfarb. The program will explain why dizziness and balance problems are common as people get older and what can be done about them. Goldfarb will discuss warning signs to watch for, why falls become more likely with age, and simple steps that can help people stay steady on their feet. The talk will also cover when physical therapy can help and share practical tips for making the home safer. The goal is to help older adults stay safe and independent.
On Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m., Town Nurse Sammee Piette will lead a discussion titled “Preventing Loneliness & Staying Connected.” Focusing on the importance of social connection for healthy aging, the session will share creative ways to stay social, make new friends, and build community.
All programs take place at the Lymes’ Senior Center, 26 Town Woods Road, and are free for members or $10 for non-members. Programs are open to adults 55 and older.
Registration is required. Call (860) 434-1605, ext. 241, for more information or to become a member.
