EAST HADDAM—On Saturday, Oct. 5, I-Park hosts a free, fun-filled Family Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include children’s art activities, a scavenger hunt and a playful, interactive musical experience.
Bring a picnic and spend the day at the park exploring the trails, enjoying the music and watching birds.
This is a family-friendly, free public event. All ages are welcome, however reservations in advance are REQUIRED. Register at this link.
This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy a variety of engaging, creative and outdoor activities together. The mix of art, music and nature exploration make for an unplugged family-bonding experience. The schedule for the day includes:
- Guided Bird Walk (9 a.m. – Sign up when you register)
- Kid’s Art Activities
- Chalk Drawing
- Music Wtih Margie (1 p.m.)
- Hiking
Visitors will be given a trail map and invited to explore the grounds. Most of the trails are quite gentle and you can spend as little as 45 minutes or several hours meandering and exploring the flora, fauna and artworks.
Early birds can catch the guided bird walk by our friends from Mattabeseck Audubon Society, a local chapter of the National Audubon Society at 9 a.m. Indicate that you are going on the birdwalk when you register.
Music With Margie will delight young and old with campfire songs at 1 p.m.
Donations for adults are welcome and appreciated.
