OLD LYME — Musical Masterworks welcomes back world-renowned artists – flutist Tara Helen O’Connor, pianist Adam Neiman, and cellist Edward Arron – for a virtuosic and vividly colorful program at Old Lyme’s First Congregational Church on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m.
Neiman will begin the program with Chopin’s beloved E Major Scherzo for Solo Piano; O’Connor and Arron will join forces for The Jet Whistle by Villa-Lobos; Neiman and Arron will render the haunting Air for Cello and Piano, composed in 2004 by Pulitzer Prize winner Kevin Puts; and the three will come together for two trios: the romantic G Major Trio by Debussy and the sparkling E minor Trio by the 19th century composer, Louise Farrenc.
Musical Masterworks’ season runs October 2019 – May 2020 and includes a celebration of Beethoven’s 250th Anniversary in March and May 2020, when concertgoers will have the extraordinary opportunity to hear the complete cycle of Beethoven’s String Quartets.
