This morning, Saturday, July 13, from 9 to 11 a.m., join a naturalist from the Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center (RTPEC) to explore the bird life at the Elizabeth B. Karter Watch Rock Preserve in Old Lyme in the next installment of the RTPEC Birding Basics series.
This complex environment of only 25 acres contains a surprising number of diverse habitats for such a small area. Located on the Duck River, coastal shorebirds and ducks can be found along the coast, songbirds in the deciduous and conifer forests, and flycatchers above the field and vernal pools.
